We go to Disney World every I need to use a vacation planner?

YES...everyone can benefit from using a vacation planner.  Believe me, I know how much knowledge that you gain on each and every Disney World vacation.  There is definitely something to be said about experience.  "I go all the time, so I know what I am doing!"  This statement holds a lot of truth.  However, there are many reasons why even a Disney World Pro should still use a vacation planner. Just because you use a vacation planner does not mean that you give up all the planning and control of your vacation.  I work with people who want me to do it all....and people who want to do the bulk of the planning themselves.  Either way is fine.

Free!  Free!  Free!  Free! Free!  Free!  Free!  Free! Free!  Free!  Free!  Free! Free!  Free!

The biggest reason that you should use a vacation planner who specializes in Disney vacations is because it is FREE!!!  You have someone who can help you make that magical vacation as perfect as possible and it does not cost you a penny more!  FREE!

Free!  Free!  Free!  Free! Free!  Free!  Free!  Free! Free!  Free!  Free!  Free! Free!  Free!

If you are a person who does not know a lot about Disney World, then you have A LOT of questions!  Where should we stay?  Where should we eat?  When is the best time of year to go?  What extra events are taking place during our visit?  What is the transportation system like?   The list can go on and on.  Even someone who goes every year still runs across questions that they have.  As a vacation planner trained by Disney, I am kept informed of news and changes.  While you can research to find the answer yourself, you can save time by asking me and making sure that you have the correct information.  There are a lot of message boards and blogs out there written by very knowledgeable people, but I have on more than one occasion seen inaccurate information floating around cyberspace.  Asking someone who is trained by Disney is the safest way to make sure that your answer is correct.  If I don't know the answer, I will go to the correct source to find out.

Dining Reservations
I will make your dining reservations for you!  Disney lets you make dining reservations 180 days in advance.  I get up early on the morning of your Advance Dining Reservations and I am on the phone trying to secure your preferred reservations.  First time people usually need some help planning out their meals...Pros usually hand me the list and say, "this is what we want."  I am happy to plan your meals out for you, but if that is something you enjoy planning, then you still have that control, you just save yourself some time by not waiting on hold to make the reservations.

Another perk to using a vacation planner, is that I watch for specials and I know when they will come out. I am up when the phone lines open calling in to apply any specials that might save you money.  If you book straight through Disney, you can get the special, but they make you call in to adjust the price, they DO NOT automatically apply it for you.  When a special is released there are a limited number of rooms at each resort that are available to get that special, so calling in early is the best way to try to get that special rate.  The rooms can go fast and sometimes by the next day certain resorts are sold out!

Itinerary Planning
When you get ready to start planning your days in the parks, I have access to crowd predictors and am able to help you plan each day.  Some people want to hit every attraction in every park, some want to see every character, and others want to leisurely stroll while hitting the hi-lights.   I can help you with a simple itinerary or a complex itinerary....which ever one you want.

As a vacation planner, I am trained by DISNEY to make sure that your vacation is MAGICAL.  Disney wants you to love every minute of your trip so that you will have wonderful memories of your own trip, so that you will come back, and so that you will recommend it to others.  For these very same reasons I want to help you plan your that you will have wonderful memories of your own trip, so that you will come back to me for help, and so that you will recommend my services to others.  First timers to pros...I can HELP you create a MAGICAL VACATION to the Happiest Place on Earth!

2 Months Until Disney World- Cars Themed Dinner

We are 2 MONTHS away from our Disney trip so it is time for our monthly countdown themed movie night....this month's theme?
I love to deck out the dining room with decorations, but I don't love to spend a lot of money on these meals.  I always try to print my own decorations or use things on hand.  But while I was in the party section at Wal-Mart yesterday, I found this cool Cars decoration kit.  It was around $6 and it provided all the hanging decorations (except for the poster on the door which I borrow from my sun room AKA Disney travel agent office).

My little helper :)

I started with a Cars themed Menu.

The menu was placed at each seat on top of a Cars paper plate.  We also had cars napkins and yellow plastic forks.

I bought a couple of cheap black plastic tablecloths and cut strips of yellow duct tape to be the lines on the road.  I left the table cloth folded so that it was long and narrow.  We used some sports cones and the Cars characters that we had on hand for the center of the table.

Start Your Engines with Doc's Dip Sticks

Fuel Up and Ridin' Shotgun with Luigi's Linguine topped with Tow Mater Sauce, Sally's Salad, and Rust-eze Medicated Bumpers.

Top off your fluids with Dinoco Oil and Fillmore's Organic Fuel

Our ancient stereo cabinet that sits in the corner served as our desert table.  I used some left over "road"table runner, some more cones and a homemade stop light that was supposed to serve as a bean bag toss game (we didn't get around to it)

We had Sarge's Survival Trail Mix (just a bag of pre-assembled at Wal-Mart)

Luigi's Casa Del La Tires

Cozy Cones of Popcorn

Stop Light M&M's

I found a lot of great ideas on Pinterest and one of my favorites was this fun blog for a Cars Themed Movie Night .  She had some great printables.  I downloaded her menu and erased her food and replaced it with mine, but the design was all hers...along with the drink labels and cute food tags.

Next month we will be doing Cinderella!

Disney Crafting

I tend to get into the creative crafting mood as we approach a trip to Disney World.  I find myself searching Pinterest for hours on end getting sucked into ANYTHING Disney related. Over the last few weeks I have managed to complete several projects for our upcoming trip (and just for fun).

 Chunky Bubblegum Bead Necklaces

Bubblegum bead necklaces are so popular right now.  Everywhere you look you see someone in a big chunky necklace.  My little girl is obsessed with the Disney Princesses, so when I saw these pendents for sale on Etsy, I knew that some chunky necklaces were in her future.

I also made a cute Mickey/Minnie colored one.

Tie Dyed Pillowcases

My kids love decorating pillowcases.  We have been wanting to try the tie dyed Mickey for a while and decided a pillowcase would be a good start.  We stuck with traditional Mickey colors- red, yellow, and black. They turned out pretty cute!

More crafts to come soon--I still have 2 months left of crafting time!

Up Themed Movie Night

Before our last trip to Walt Disney World, I did monthly Family Movie themed dinners.  My family loved them and have anxiously been awaiting the next one.  Well, here we are only 3 months away from our December tonight we had our first movie night.  The theme?  UP!  The decorations were cheap and easy....balloons, Balloons, and MORE BALLOONS!

I also found these ADORABLE (yet tedious to assemble) 3D Character on  They have some really cute printables for UP.

We cannot have a movie night without Movie tickets.

I also printed the "My Adventure Book" and UP bookmarks from
Our table was set with Polka Dot paper plates and chevron napkins wrapped around the fork and tied with twine.  Our glasses were Mason jar cups.

Our Menu for tonight was centered around the Wilderness Explorer so we had:

Dug's Squirrel-dogs (aka Hotdogs)
Carl's Chips
Widerness Explorer Trail Mix
Kevin's Chocolate S'mores

I put all the food in tin pans for a more rustic feel.

I used a tin muffin pan for each of the kids to assemble their own trail mix.

Did I mention with UP you use A LOT of Balloons...I had them thrown all over the floor of the kitchen.

The final touch was a little "Adventure Awaits" banner I designed and printed on index cards.  I hung it over the window.

Little Miss got to "help" me get things ready while the boys were gone to Tae Kwon Do.  We surprised the with it when they came home.  They were very excited!

Be sure to check out my previous dinners and check back next month to see which one we do next.
