Beauty and the Beast Birthday Party

My daughter loves all things Disney princess....so we knew that we would have a princess themed party.  It was a little more challenging for her to narrow it down to which one she wanted for her party (and YES she changed her mind several times) but finally she decided that it would be a Beauty and the Beast party.  Since that is my favorite Disney movie, I was thrilled to have the chance to pull this party off!

Since it was a princess party, she thought that it would be fun to have the girls come dressed as their favorite princess and the boys were told that they could be pirates or knights.
My daughter dressed up as Belle last year as Belle, so we had her Belle dress (and hairstyle) already figured out.

Saige, her American Girl doll even came dressed up to the party

Our color scheme was taken from Belle's yellow dress and the rose.  Almost everything was either yellow or red in color.

The decorations were completed with Mrs. Potts and her tea cart.

She couldn't hardly wait for the party to start.  She sat by the window for a long time watching for the first guest to arrive.  (At least it gives a good view of her hair)

When the guests arrived they were greeted by a table of Beauty and the Beast themed foods...each was marked with a folded tent card label.

Cogsworth snack mix.

Iced sugar cookies in the shapes of crowns, dresses and roses.

Red Sixlets candy

Chip's Candy Crunch Mix

The Grey Stuff...it was delicious, don't believe me?

Ask the dishes!

We wanted a tiered cake and I wanted it to resemble the dress.  So I made a two tier cake with yellow fondant icing.  Then I took and made the little ropes to look like the gathered fabric.  The finishing touches were added with red roses and the Disney Characters around the cake.

A Beauty and the Beast party isn't complete without the enchanted rose.

The Beast and Belle guarded the gift table.

For activities we played Beauty and the Beast Bingo.  I found various clip art online, and designed cards for the game.  Then printed additional copies of the cards to have images to draw so that they would know what to cover.

We also did a craft.  The girls decorated crowns with jewel stickers

and the boys were able to decorate shields.

The favor were tied up in these red goody bags with a tag that read "Thank you for being my guest!"

Inside they found a tube or red and yellow gumballs, a Belle Squinkie ring, a princess Silly Band and a ring...the boys had racecars instead.

Each guest was also sent home with a homemade enchanted rose sucker.

This party was so much fun to put together and my little girl couldn't stop smiling the whole day.  We are already planning her 5th party and as sad as it makes me...it is NOT going to be a Disney themed one.  I will keep you guessing until December!
