Teen Beach Movie Night

My kids have been dying to watch the new Teen Beach 2..ok, to be honest, so I have I.  I loved the first one.  The songs were catchy, and it reminded me a lot of a modern day Grease.  We are getting close to our beach vacation and I had been putting off seeing the movie, so that we could do a movie night the week before we left for the beach.  It was a easy dinner night to throw together!

Since we are getting ready to go to the beach pretty soon, I needed to get our beach toys out of the attic.  They became great decorations.  I also pulled out my handy luau decoration box, which has been so useful in decorating for my movie nights.

For a table runner, I used two beach towels and stretched them across the table.

Chicken and Pineapple Kabobs

Tropical Fruit Salad

Baked Sea Grass Chips (Kale chips)

Sun Chips

And for dessert:

Ocean Wave Cupcakes

Pool Noodles

Life Preservers, Gummy Sharks and Octopi

It was a fun movie night and Teen Beach 2 was cute.  I am not sure if I liked it as well as the first one, but as far as sequels go, it was pretty good!

Tangled Movie Night

*note, this dinner was done several years ago and I just realized that I did not post a blog about it....so I guess this is a throw-back post :)

We love the movie Tangled.  My daughter wanted a Rapunzel 3rd birthday party.  After the party  was over I knew it would be the perfect chance to do a dinner movie night so I could use some of my leftover decorations and food from her party.   I named our dining room the Snuggly Duckling after the tavern in the movie where Flynn takes Rapunzel.

All of the decorations were left over from her party.

Yarn Balloons and Lanterns

Flynn Wanted Poster

Braided Rapunzel hair with the doll and Pascal from the Disney Store.

Pascal Party blowers

Our Menu:

Magic Golden Flower Punch

Pascal Cake Pops

Paintbrushes and Braided Breadsticks

Pascal Vegetable Tray and Maximus Apples
