Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Christmas Eve is so much fun and I love seeing the excitement on the faces of my boys as the day turns into night. The darker it gets the more excited they get about Santa's visit! It is so much fun...I feel like a kid again just being with them. Their excitement is contagious! Christmas traditions are forming and I love how much my boys look forward to these "traditions" each year. We always start out the day with making cookies for Santa. Then we spend the day watching Christmas movies and reading Christmas stories. We have pizza for supper on Christmas Eve, followed by cookies and cocoa for dessert. We close out the evening by getting Santa's plate of cookies and his cup of cocoa ready, making reindeer food and then watching The Polar Express. When the movie is over, we run outside to feed the reindeer. Once the reindeer food is sprinkled over the lawn the boys run to their beds...where it takes FOREVER for them to fall asleep!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

35 Weeks Pregnant

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We had our first snow of the season yesterday and the boys were so excited about it. We were lucky if we got an inch, but they somehow managed to make a 3 foot tall snowman in the front yard.

The house is decorated, presents are bought and wrapped and the countdown has begun. The boys have a little calendar that they get to move a christmas tree every day. It helps them to visualize how long until Christmas.

We have two "special guests" at out house during the month of December and it is our favorite holiday tradition. Our guests are two "Magic Elves" from the North Pole. Three years ago we wrote Santa a letter and requested that one of his Elves be able to visit us for the Christmas season. Santa sent Watkins and we loved having him with us. He is a little mischevious and sometimes messy, but a joy to have. He sleeps during the day, but at night when we are asleep he gets up and moves around the house. Sometimes he leaves little presents and sometimes he makes a little mess. We loved having Watkins so much that last year we asked Santa for a second elf to come with Watkins. Oliver was the elf that accompanied him to Cookeville and the boys had even more fun since there were two...less fighting over who got to hold the elf. The elves arrived at our house last Sunday morning and have been so much fun already. They have written on the counter with toothpaste, hung christmas light in Jaycee's room, played dress up, left the boys a few gifts and I am sure that they have many more activities planned before they head back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. The boys were left a letter from Watkins saying that Oliver's sister Holly would be coming to spend some time with us if Jaycee is born before Christmas. If not then she will be coming next year with Watkins and Oliver. I love the joy that the magic elves bring to our house during the holidays and we are always sad when they leave to go back to the North Pole.

My pregnancy is still going well. I go to the doctor tomorrow for my 36 week check up. I cannot believe that we are so close to holding our precious baby. Daniel and Micah are so excited about having a sister. They have so many questions about what she will look like and what it will be like to have a baby around the house. They will be wonderful big brothers.

Jaycee Update

I went for my 34 week checkup today, everything checked out well... My blood pressure was good, weight gain good, Jaycee's heart rate good! Only 6 weeks until my due date and I am so anxious to meet her. Daniel and Micah were both early and it is hard not to expect her to make an early arrival too. Time will tell! We have one more 2 week check up and then we will start going weekly! This pregnancy has flown!!!

Meanwhile, her nursery is ready and waiting on her, the clothes are all washed and put away, and her car seat is waiting in her room to be installed in the van. After we get back from our Thanksgiving visit to see Jason's parents we will begin making final preparations just in case she is early too! We still need to pack bags, install car seat, and set up the playpen in our room...a pretty short to do list!

Weekend Fun!

We had a fun and family filled weekend. Daniel will be turning eight on Thanksgiving Day this year. We had his birthday party on Saturday. He wanted to have a bowling party this was so much fun! He invited several friends from Church as well as some from school. They had the best time bowling, eating cupcakes, and just playing!

After the party was over we came home and got out the Christmas decorations. With Jaycee being due in a few weeks we decided to get a jump start on the holiday decorating. So now our house is all festive and ready for Christmas!
