Where has the last month gone? I didn't think it was possible for time to fly by this quickly, but...somehow Jaycee is a month old already! She is changing more and more every day. She is starting to get on her own schedule of sleep and awake times. It is amazing to watch her changing. Jaycee is such a good baby and she is such a blessing to our family. It is hard to remember life without her in it...she just fits perfectly into our lives!
We finally got a good snow. We went to bed last night with the flakes really falling down and high hopes of Jason, Daniel, and Micah building one of our snow scupltures. However, during the night the snow turned to sleet and we woke to a beautiful winter wonderland...covered in ice. So the snow sculpture of Sorcerer Mickey will have to wait until the next good snow we get. The boys enjoyed playing in the snow anyway. Since we don't have a good sledding hill, Jason made one down the front steps! The boys had a blast sledding down their daddy made hill.

Jaycee turned 2 weeks old yesterday...wow TIME FLIES! We had her 2 week checkup today and she is back to her birth weight plus some and she checked out perfectly! She weighs 8lbs 9 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. They were pleased with the amount of weight she had gained as a lot of babies only get back to birth weight by the 2 week check up. However, she didn't lose very much weight only 1 ounce in the first 24 hours..don't know about after that since we went home.
The boys have been out of school for a week now from the 1 INCH of snow we got. So many of the back roads are still frozen because we have not gotten very warm here. They have loved having the extra time with Jaycee. Daniel and Micah are both great big brothers. They LOVE their sister and are a big help. Daniel loves to hold her and is great to hold her if I need to do something real quick. Micah loves to help with changing her and helping me get the things that I need. They are wonderful with her.
We took Jaycee to church for the first time on Sunday and it felt so good to have our whole family together for worship. I feel like my family is complete since Jaycee has arrived and I loved having all 3 kids surrounding me at church. Jason has been given a few Sundays off so that he can help out with Jaycee and so he can have some extra family time. He loved getting to sit with us on Sunday and was actually able to enjoy holding Jaycee during church. The boys were so very excited to show Jaycee off at church. They were grinning from ear to ear! It was a wonderful day!
Our family is so truly blessed by everything that the Lord has given us.

We got to the hospital on Tuesday morning, December 29th at 6:00 and I was having some contractions but nothing "real". They started Pitocin about 7:00 and then Dr. Gernt came in at 8:00. I was 2cm dilated and 70% effaced, she went ahead and broke my water at this time too. They checked me again at 10:00 and I was at 4cm. By this time the contractions were getting quite intense. I asked them to get the request in for my epidural. They came in about 11:00 to start my epidural. The checked me again about 11:30, and at that point I was at 4-4 1/2cm. At 12:00 (noon) they came in and said by looking at the monitor they thought I would be almost ready. My doctor checked me and I was at 10cm, completely effaced and 0 station. I could feel nothing so the doctor said that she would let me wait a little while to see if the baby dropped a little more without me having to push her down. Dr. Gernt walked out of the room, they rolled me to my other side, and then she came back in (about a minute after she walked out) and said I need to check you again, the baby is looking like she might be ready now...and sure enough Jaycee was completely in the birth canal. They quickly got things ready and I started pushing at 12:06. I pushed through 2 contractions and Jaycee was born 3 minutes later at 12:09 p.m...weighing 8lbs 4 oz and 20 3/4 inches long.
